It’s 5:20 am. My alarm is blaring, letting me know it’s time to get up. My eyes creak open to notice the twilight coming through the bedroom window. It’s time to start another day in the life of me.
I grab my phone to silence the alarm so it doesn’t wake my husband, Trey, or our toddler, Brock, who’s co-sleeping with us.
My days always start before my feet even hit the ground. I check my phone and usually see a text or two from my staff explaining why they can’t come into work and I immediately jump into problem-solving mode.
I roll to the left a little only to realize that Brock managed to get his diaper off (again!) and pee on the bed. Ugh! Up I go though. Since the pee is on my side of the bed, I’ll deal with it after Brock and Trey wake up. I tiptoe out of the room to check on the other three kids. Everyone is sleeping soundly, so here we go…
Welcome! My name is Maria Rasche and I’m so glad you decided to stop by!
A bit about me: I am a wife of almost 10 years to my high school sweetheart, Trey. I am a mama to our four babes: Beau (8), Brinley (6), Bexley (4), and Brock (1.5). I am a busy entrepreneur owning three childcare centers and a landscaping business. If that doesn’t keep us busy enough I also have taught Biology online at our local junior college since 2013.
In this journey of love and marriage, parenting, and entrepreneurship, I have found myself aching for a creative outlet to which I can share stories – the real, the funny, and the oh-so-true that you can feel it within yourself. I want to connect to other women and bring hope and joy in a dark time.
2020 has changed so many of our lives, and it hasn’t been easy. If you know me personally, you know that I am an optimist and 2020 even tried extinguishing my flame for life and people. I want to tell you about it. I want to share the hardships and the joy. I want to encourage you through these times and have so much fun while doing it.
With this blog, I hope to share so much merriment and motivation that you can’t stay away because your heart has secretly been aching for an escape as well. The creativity will flow through writing, podcasts, photos, and sharing all of my favorite things such as my family, friends, work, marriage, food, shopping, hobbies, and more.
